Owl's Nest Publishers is seeking interns to join our Nest and support our staff across editorial, marketing, and operations! We are an independent publisher founded by Karin Hoyle and Katie Stewart in 2021 and are dedicated to publishing quality books for adolescents and young readers ages 8-18 (Middle Grade and Teen).
As an intern at Owl's Nest, you will be exposed to all phases of the publishing process—both day-to-day operations and big picture planning—from editorial to production to publicity and marketing. We are a passionate, close-knit staff and we are excited to welcome others into the Nest and add their voices to the conversation! We are looking for talented, diverse, motivated, and creative interns to join us and assist our team. This is an unpaid, fully remote position.

- Assisting with administrative tasks
- Reading manuscript submissions and writing reader’s reports
- Providing editorial notes on manuscripts for editors
- Researching and assisting in awards submissions
- Attending and actively participating in weekly staff meetings
- Updating information on owlsnestpublishers.com
- Assisting with publicity and marketing materials
- Social media marketing, content creation, posting, and development
- Collecting information for industry events
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Interested in book publishing
- A passion for good, true, and beautiful books
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- A love for adolescent interests and literature
