About Us
Then & Now
Owl's Nest Publishers was formed in late 2021 by Karin Hoyle and Katie Stewart on the foundation of shared values, vision, and long friendship. They had built this foundation as children and adolescents, while attending a summer camp at which there was an upper library room called the Owl’s Nest. In the Owl's Nest, friendships were forged between the lines of stories read and listened to—there was laughter, there were tears, and the serious matters of growing up were explored in the safety that only a place of whimsy can offer.
Karin and Katie established Owl's Nest Publishers, above all, to publish books that capture this ethos: the important, authentic, imaginative adolescent experience. Today, we are carrying on this important mission and vision through our growing list of books and ever-expanding opportunities! Katie Stewart is no longer on staff, but her legacy remains in the work being done by founding CEO Karin Hoyle and COO Beth Anne Dunphy. Owl's Nest Publishers seeks to be an industry leader in adolescent literature, and we believe that as more parents, educators, and (most importantly!) young readers discover our books, this goal will be accomplished. Between the quiet pages of a book, the young see the world, hear the world, and grow wise. This is the Owl’s Nest, come in and read! |
